AT THE GOLDEN HORIZON is a piece featuring clear fanfare articulations and bright sonorities. Its principal motive is based on the opening notes F, A, and, counting your way up the keyboard, U, in homage to the students and faculty of Florida Atlantic University, to whom the work is dedicated. The harmonies, textures, and colors of this work are influenced by the image of a sunrise on the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean, which is symbolic of my new home here in Florida.
